About Me

I have been coding since I was in junior high school. Back then, we called it "programming". I am probably somewhat older than most people in coding Boot Camp. I am starting an Encore-Career.

I have followed the changing technology, and kept my skills sharp. Programming my Arduino. Making complex, moving graphics in Processing.

I finished Andrei Neagoie's "Tech-in-Asia's on-line Boot Camp"—which is a self-guided tour of becoming a JavaScript Developer. Some of the course is easy—watching videos. Most of it is difficult—writing code, debugging, making changes, personalizing the pages, etc.

I'm writing new code, and creating new pages just for fun. I created Railroad Signaling System (below) as a theoretical exercise—unrelated to any class content.

I am learning the joys of jQuery and Bootstrap. StackOverflow has become my friend.

Cover Letter

I have three years worth of experience, accumulated over the last few decades. In addition, I recently finished coding boot camp.

I have been coding since I was in junior high school. Back then, we called it “programming”. I am starting an Encore Career.

I have followed the changing technology, and kept my skills sharp—programming my Arduino—making complex, moving graphics using Processing.

My coding boot camp was Andrei Neagoie’s “Tech-in-Asia’s on-line Boot Camp”—a self-paced, on-line coding refresher course—with an emphasis on JavaScript. It is a demanding program—writing code, debugging, making changes, personalizing the pages, etc.

I am learning the joys of jQuery, Bootstrap, and StackOverflow.

I code because I love the challenge. I love the journey into the abyss of broken code—debugging, trying new things, getting different and interesting errors, the “A-Ha moment”, and finally making the code work.

Michael Williams
